Is blowout styling included with every head spa service?
Yes. Every appointment concludes with a relaxing scalp blow-dry styling so you can leave our sanctuary refreshed and ready for your day. If you prefer to air-dry or have delicate extensions, simply let your practitioner know during your initial intake consultation.
How long should I wait after fresh hair coloring or bleaching?
We strongly recommend waiting at least 7 to 10 days after chemical coloring, highlighting, or bleaching before booking a head spa. Deep hydrotherapy and botanical steam can open hair cuticles and cause freshly deposited pigments to fade prematurely.
What should I wear, and what time should I arrive?
We recommend wearing comfortable tops with open collars so your neck and shoulders are easily accessible for acupressure. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time to enjoy our complimentary welcome herbal tea and complete your scalp condition intake questionnaire.
Can I receive a treatment if I have psoriasis, eczema, or active hair loss?
Mistwood Head Spa provides holistic relaxation and cosmetic scalp cleansing. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure dermatological medical conditions, open wounds, active infections, or clinical alopecia. If you are under active medical treatment, please consult your physician or dermatologist prior to scheduling.
Are head spa treatments safe during pregnancy?
Yes, head spa treatments are wonderful for relieving prenatal tension during the second and third trimesters. Our practitioners adapt the bed incline, omit certain stimulating essential oils (such as clary sage and rosemary), and use gentle, soothing strokes. We always recommend obtaining clearance from your OB-GYN.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Because our private Hinoki suites and therapists are reserved exclusively for you, we kindly request at least 24 hours advance notice for any rescheduling or cancellation. Late cancellations within 24 hours or missed appointments may incur a 50% reservation fee.
Sanctuary Etiquette & Quiet Policy
To preserve a meditative haven for all guests, we request that all mobile phones be switched to silent mode upon entering. Whispering is encouraged in common hallways, and private suites are strictly designated for one guest per session.
